Not too long ago, a friend asked me about Google Caffeine and as my mind drew a blank all I could think of was a hot cup of coffee. In my newly sparked curiosity, I looked into this new product to see what it was all about. What I learned is that Google Caffeine is the new upcoming search engine for Google. Being a consumer also made this project more interesting to me.
While Google Caffeine is not ready and still being developed, Google has made a beta version for users to give it a test drive.
I tried out the new Google search engine and compared it to the original one. In my test drive, the only real differences I noticed were in the speed and accuracy of the newer version. Other than that, the two seem to be very similar.
The first thing you should try out is testing to see the difference in speed for yourself. Try to search for common words and time how quickly it returns the results. Next, do the same with the beta version and see the difference in the two.
When I did the test myself, I found that the Google Caffeine beta was faster than the original engine Google started with.
The next thing was to try out the accuracy of the search results between the two. Google Caffeine was indeed more accurate with the return results than what the original Google search engine returned. The original returned more results that were called blended search options.
To the general users there may be no problems with this new beta. However, for others this could be a problem as the search engine can interrupt key words thus making the higher ranking results return in lower positions and run the risk of not being seen.
Luckily, this is just a beta for users to test drive. However, with all of this is mind it might be wise to optimize your blogs and websites to ensure they still turn up in Google’s search results.
Besides Google Caffeine, the author also frequently publishes information about digital lock and combination padlocks.
